During my last deployment, my wife sent me a beautiful, hand-stitched leather wallet for my birthday. I loved the sentiment and the fact that it was handmade by a sole craftsman, but I also loved how durable it was, even in the middle of the desert. My leather wallet was one of the two essential things I carried with me every day.
It led me to an idea. Aside from being a soldier, I have always looked for outlets to pursue my passion for art. The craftsman in me wanted to learn how to make this wallet I was using every day. The artist in me wanted to make a design that was both durable and beautiful. I like to think that my wallets are a mix between art and an essential every day good.
The name Lodgment Till is inspired by the place I am fortunate enough to call my home, New England. Lodgment Till is a deposit created when a moving glacier and bedrock are compressed. In New England, it's hard not to find a path or neighborhood lined by stone walls. There's so much history made out of stone. Not only are these beautiful but were once built with a purpose.
What started as a way to decompress and be artistic, has become an opportunity to make quality items that people will carry around for years to come. Please feel free to contact me with questions. I love being commissioned for custom orders as well. Let me know if you have an idea and we will try to bring it to life.
I hope you enjoy!
